Prior to joining Expansion, Alex co-founded and was a partner at Blackwolf Partners, an early stage Cleantech venture capital firm. Alex has spent over ten years investing in and successfully growing young companies in a variety of sectors, including Cleantech, eBusiness services, enterprise software and communications services from seed stage through IPO/acquisition. Alex has been a venture investment professional and senior manager at JPMorgan Partners, Hambrecht & Quist and Vietnam Fund Management Company. Alex serves as Chairman and President of National Youth Leadership Forum, a leading non-profit company that organizes career-oriented educational programs for high school students. Alex is a member of the Advisory Council of the Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise at Cornell University and the Industrial Advisory Board of the Department of Materials Engineering at CalPoly. Alex often lectures on venture capital financing, entrepreneurship and sustainable technologies. Alex earned a B.A. degree in International Relations and Asian Studies from Tulane University, studied at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and holds an MBA from Cornell University. |

Alex joined Expansion Capital Partners as a Principal in 2006. He is a member of the investment committee and is actively involved with sourcing, closing and monitoring the firm’s Cleantech investments. Alex is a board observer for portfolio companies Sensortran, Element Labs and ConsumerPowerline.
